About the
SALON
Our prices are gender neutral — what you pay for is Mo’s skill set, time and the products that are used. Choose from our long list of options tailored to achieve your hair goals.
WHAT YOU
CAN
EXPECT
To pay the same price, no matter your gender
This is the Surf Coast — there are just as many gents rocking luscious long locks as there are ladies! And what about the folks who fall into neither (or both!) of those camps? That’s why the cost of your haircut and colour is determined on how much time, skill and product is required to make you feel shiny and new. We couldn’t give two hoots how you identify!
To have your hair celebrated in all its glory
We love hair in all its shapes and forms! Mo is confident with working with all ranges of hair types and has a lot of experience working with hair from diverse cultural backgrounds. If there is a hair type or style that she is not comfortable with, she will communicate that with the client and offer an alternative salon. Above all, she will listen to you because no-one knows their hair better than the person who's been growing it their whole life!
A safe and welcoming space for neurodivergent and disabled folks
Our space has been designed with accessibility in mind: from lift access, to open spaces that accommodate mobility devices, to changing up the environment to suit individual needs. If you prefer a quiet space, we can turn off the tunes and keep the chat to a minimum. Don’t like being on display? We’re tucked away behind a half way in a cosy corner that doesn’t get much foot traffic. Don’t super love mirrors? We only have one, it’s tinted and can be covered easily (plus we have lovely soft light — no harsh changeroom lighting here!). Please let us know any requirements you have in your booking notes, so we can give you the best and safest experience possible.
To never hear hate speech or experience bigotry of any kind
Being an inclusive, safe space for all our clients means having an awareness of our privileges and not engaging in or tolerating: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, whorephobia or othering fellow humans.
To be able to bring a plus one
Have kids? Great, bring them along! There’s a comfy couch out front they can sprawl on and cool books to flip through. Are they still too little to be couch sprawlin’? We’ve got space for a pram or you can pop them on your lap while we get to work. Never leave home without your handbag Chihuahua? We get it! This is a pet-friendly space (just make sure to let us know, so Salon Manager Cholo can take the day off).
To be in the driver’s seat of your experience
We pride ourselves on offering a safe and welcoming space for everyone who has hair. We want you to feel so comfortable and stoked about your experience that you draw love hearts next to your hair appointments in your calendar. So please, let us know in your booking notes if there is anything else we can do to make your time with us extra magical.
Please note: Mo is a passionate peanut butter fan (you can often find her chowing down on it by the spoonful). If you have a peanut butter allergy, please make sure to mention in your booking notes so she can leave the jar at home and ensure all traces are removed from the salon.
